TESTIMONIALS

"Elevating Skills, Knowledge, and Confidence"

Last spring and summer was the first time my son, Matthew, continued regular wrestling practices after the winter season. Through the new Liberty North off‑season academy and camps, he was able to keep progressing in a structured, high‑quality environment.

Coaches Boltz and Sanders were pivotal in his growth, providing advanced coaching and high-level drilling that pushed improvement. The additional preparation elevated his skills, knowledge, and confidence, which directly supported his success in larger tournaments against more experienced athletes.

Matthew’s off‑season experience is testament to what War Eagle Wrestling delivers: a high‑level system that helps athletes grow, develop, and advance within the sport.

-John Aust (Matthew's Dad)

Coach Sanders and Coach Boltz have been great mentors to my son during his first year of wrestling. Both are very easy to talk to and answer any questions parents may have. They both strongly believe in their program and building a solid foundation of knowledge for wrestlers of all skill levels. They are very engaged in their teaching, breaking down skills step by step to make sure everyone understands. There is drilling and review to make sure their kids retain the moves taught. The practices are a great balance between having fun and working hard. I have been very impressed with how much my son learned this year, and he is very excited to be going into next season with them.

-Tanya Callaway (Henry’s Mom)

“Coach Sanders is a great coach, he is the definition of tough love. He’s a great teacher, especially when wrestling one-on-one. He will scrap toe-to-toe and then take you out to eat! He will always keep it 100 with you. Coach Boltz is a very intelligent coach and he will get you to the championship level. He will test you and push you to a level you didn't know you could reach!

COACHES

HEAD COACH

Coach Elliott Boltz began his wrestling journey traveling across Pennsylvania and Oklahoma to attend camps with his brother, building a strong foundation in the sport from an early age.

As a military brat, Elliott wrestled overseas, becoming a DoDEA European Champion, earning four top placings at DoDEA European Championships, and qualifying for the 2006 NHSCA National High School Wrestling Championships. He went on to compete collegiately at West Point NY, graduating in 2011.

Following graduation, Elliott served as an infantry officer in the U.S. Army for 12 years. After concluding his active-duty service, he and his family relocated to the Liberty, Missouri area, where he spent three years coaching at Liberty North High School (as a varsity assistant) and leading youth and club programs.

Off the mat, Elliott works as a Solutions Engineer in the tech industry and continues his military service as a Major in the U.S. Army Reserves.

His favorite part of coaching?
"Wrestling taught me the life lessons that shaped everything, from West Point to company command and building winning programs. Coaching keeps me grounded in my faith and reminds me what truly matters. Our kids are hardworking, hilarious, and motivate me every single day."

Coach Elliott resides in Liberty, Missouri, with his beautiful wife and three wonderful young boys, all of whom share a love for the sport of wrestling.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • We only have your athletes a couple days a week. So we want to use the time to build better wrestlers. That being said, we have a big focus on drilling & live wrestling. We do not condition with running, we condition with wrestling.

  • We believe that first and second year wrestlers should spend most of their time learning the sport of wrestling. So we recommend only competing once or twice a season. As a club we will be going to 2 tournaments a month. We plan on offering camps in the future on the weekends. These camps will offers hours of experience as opposed to wrestling at tournaments every weekend and wrestling for a total of 15 or 20 minutes.

  • We do not cut weight at War Eagle Wrestling. We believe it adversely affects young wrestlers.

  • Coach Boltz and Coach Sanders really care about the athletes we work with. They pride themselves in developing young men and women who are no just good wrestlers, but more importantly are ready for the world!
